So these two American Guys and this Swedish guy are in a bar in Berlin. Don't like the music so DJ the music they do like. The Berliners don't like their DJing. Frustation. Relocation to New York City and forming a band follow. Not necessarily in that order. Now signed to Kitsune and with a debut album on the way, these multinational cosmopolitan types are making some nice dancey noise that sounds like Justice if they calmed down a bit and stopped impersonating Daft Punk so much. Simple, stripped down vaguely danceable electronica.
My favourite track of theirs, "Fass", which begins as if it spent it's lifetime fighting crime in designer suits in the 80s along the dark streets of Miami, is availiable on their MySpace page.
As well as "Drugs in My Body", a funky, druggy (no, really?) tune which sounds a little as if Hot Chip didn't take everything so seriously.
Check them out.
